Monitor Cord Safety
Audio and video baby monitors provide a great service to parents, but it's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations while using.
The CPSC offers the following safety tips to prevent deaths and injuries associated with baby monitor cords (even if your baby is not yet standing or mobile):
- Use a wireless baby monitor to avoid risk of strangulation.
- If using a baby monitor with cords, make sure all cords are out of arm's reach of your child.
- Do not put a baby monitor in the crib, bassinet, or toddler bed.
